Your Questions Answered

I understand that stepping into the world of therapy can be a new and unfamiliar experience for many. Here, I've compiled answers to some common questions to help demystify my approach and services.

    • The process of meeting with a professional counselor to:

      • Find relief from emotional distress; become less anxious, fearful or depressed.

      • Seek solutions to problems in your life, such as dealing with disappointment, family/relationship issues, job or career dissatisfaction, etc.

      • Modify ways of thinking and acting that are preventing you from working productively and enjoying personal relationships.

    • Dance Movement/Therapy (DMT) is a form of expressive therapy that uses movement and dance to support emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration of individuals. It's based on the idea that movement and emotions are interconnected, and by engaging in purposeful movement, individuals can explore and express their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.Through various exercises, dance, improvisation, and structured movement patterns, individuals can explore their inner experiences, improve body awareness, and develop new coping mechanisms.

    • The goal of DMT is not necessarily to teach specific dance techniques but to facilitate self-discovery, emotional processing, and personal growth through the body's expressive movement. This therapeutic approach acknowledges the mind-body connection and emphasizes the healing potential of movement and dance.

  • We literally go for a walk during your therapy session! This will occur at one of a few Portland area parks that I have scoped out. Think leisurely walk, not a huff & puff hike.

Science shows that walking can provide many benefits such as: improved mood, increased mental clarity, decrease of anxious or depressed symptoms, increased insight, stress reduction and so much more! We combine these naturally occurring benefits with our therapy session to help you enhance treatment outcomes and get closer to your goals.

  • We're in the PNW, we love a little rain! I still offer session when it's raining: we'll come prepared with jackets and waterproof gear. If the weather is inclement (extreme heat, snow, hail, way too much rain, etc), we will schedule for telehealth!

  • Not at this time. Out of pocket payments will be due at the time of session and can be paid by debit or credit card.

    • 30 min consultation - No Charge

  •  Individual therapy lasts for 50 minutes.

  • At this time I meet virtually via a secure platform specifically designed for therapists for non walk & talk therapy sessions. I hope to have in-person availability in the future!
